CTx001 is designed to enable expression of mini-CR1 within retinal cells. Based on preclinical evidence, mini-CR1 has the potential to cross Bruch’s membrane, a thin layer separating the retina from the underlying choroid, suggesting the possibility of complement modulation in both compartments where disease-associated inflammation is thought to occur.
